It was a great pleasure to meet with Fuad Nağıyev, Chairman of the State Tourism Agency of Azerbaijan. Our longstanding relationship, built on mutual respect and friendship, made for a truly pleasant and meaningful discussion on matters of common interest.
We spoke about the remarkable progress Azerbaijan has achieved in tourism development—through a series of strategic initiatives that have literally transformed the country’s tourism profile, placing it firmly on the map as an increasingly attractive global destination. Fuad Naghiyev shared with me several aspects of the country’s ambitious plans and forward-thinking strategies being designed at the highest level to further advance Azerbaijan’s tourism sector.
We also discussed my candidacy for Secretary-General of 𝗨𝗡 𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗺, ahead of the upcoming elections. We reaffirmed our shared view that the priorities I have set forth—promoting sustainability, strengthening resilience, embracing digital transformation, and above all, ensuring transparency and sound governance—are essential for enabling 𝗨𝗡 𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗺 to assume a leading role in this new era for the global tourism sector. A new chapter for 𝗨𝗡 𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗺, grounded in credibility, effectiveness, and the values that should define its mission.
