Continuing the series of presentations for my candidacy as Secretary-General of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), I had the pleasure of participating in the event organized by the Secretariat of the New Democracy Program with tourism stakeholders aligned with our party. I extend my gratitude to the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Elena Rapti, the Secretary-General of the Ministry, Vasiliki Koutsoukou, the Director-General of New Democracy, Giannis Smyrlis, the Deputy Regional Governor for Tourism of Central Macedonia, Vicky Chatzivasileiou, and all the friends and colleagues in the tourism sector for their support and warm words.
I had the opportunity to comprehensively present the significance of vying for the leadership of the UNWTO for Greek tourism. I firmly believe that through our dialogue, it was reaffirmed that with a Greek at the helm of such a pivotal position for the global tourism industry, our country will reap multiple benefits in terms of prestige and influence. At the same time, the UNWTO itself will turn a new page, embracing a vision of modernization, digitization, and sustainable development.
